Youth at First Christian Church
Our Youth Ministry Team, led by Youth & Family Pastor Laura Hatler and staffed by incredible volunteers, works together to plan activities and is dedicated to building positive relationships with youth (grades 6-12), while helping them grow in their knowledge and faith. At this age, many young people are asking hard questions. Rather than provide them with easy answers, we seek to provide a strong foundation of faith, where every youth knows that God loves them without fail. We encourage them to find answers for themselves through Bible study, prayer, and by being in community with other Christians.
For more information about the youth please contact Youth & Family Pastor, Laura Hatler. You can also find the permission form, required for many youth events and outings HERE.
Youth Sunday School
|
Sunday School for Youth is from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. Teachers will gather youth in the Fellowship Hall, then go downstairs to the Youth lounge. Through Bible study, discussion, fun activities, and service projects, we seek to encourage our youth to learn and question what God is calling them to do in their lives. While the church is closed, due to COVID-19, we are meeting via Zoom.

Youth Group
|
During the school year, Youth meet after church on the first Sunday of the month to have lunch together and do a mission project. While the church is closed due to COVID-19, we will be meeting on these days for an outdoor service project.

Camps and Retreats
|
Several times a year, FCC youth are invited to gather with other youth in the Central Rocky Mountain Region (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Northern New Mexico, and Southeastern Idaho). Camp is not just a fun time with friends, but can also be a life-changing experience that helps youth build a foundation of faith that lasts the rest of their lives. FCC is committed to helping children and youth attend camps and retreats, and will pay half the cost for every child who wants to attend. You can read more about camps on our Region's Website.
Summer Camp Chi Rho Camp (completed grades 6-8) This is a week-long camp opportunity for middle school-aged youth. CYF Conference (completed grades 9-12) This is a week-long camp opportunity for high school-aged youth. Mid-Winter Retreat (Grades 6-12) This retreat is held over President's Day Weekend and is a wonderful camp for youth from the region to learn about God and get to know each other. Fall Retreat (Grades 9-12) Fall Retreat is held at a different church in the region every year. High Schoolers gather for a weekend focused on mission activities and learning about how God calls us to serve our neighbors. |
