FCC Series 2023 Season
Music on the Labyrinth series concerts:
June 24 - Peak Big Band plays a variety of classic and modern big band charts, ranging from Glenn Miller and Cole Porter to Santana and Guns and Roses. Several members hail from the NORAD band and several have played with big band/jazz greats such as Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Maynard Ferguson and Bill Watrous. Peak Big Band is under the direction of Bryant Letellier, who also plays trombone in the group. August 6 - The Academy Jazz Ensemble is a full sized big-band that performs and educates in the greater Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Region and along the Colorado Front Range. The members are public school teachers, private instructors, and other musicians from the area. The ensemble performs in schools, at festivals, and for private events. Their mission is to educate the public about jazz music; to provide an outlet for school music programs where teachers and students can perform and explore jazz music at a professional level; and to continue the tradition of this uniquely American art form. www.academyjazz.org |
