Chuck came to First Christian Church in October 2009. He came from the Big Island of Hawaii where he had served as pastor of the Hilo Coast United Church of Christin Honomu. Before that he was Regional Minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Northern California and Nevada. He has also served churches in Indiana and Texas, and has been on the staff of Christian Theological Seminary and Vanderbilt University. He has degrees from Texas Christian University, the University of Chicago, Vanderbilt University, and Christian Theological Seminary. He and his wife, the Rev. Barbara Blaisdell, have four adult children and two grandchildren. Barbara is currently serving as Interim/Transitional Senior Minister at First Christian Church in Portland, Oregon.

(BMus, organ & piano performance., Colorado State University ‘73; MMus, organ & piano performance, University of Kansas, ’89; has served First Christian Church as organist, accompanist and manager of the concert series since 1989. Prior to coming to Colorado Springs, Carol taught organ and piano and was university organist at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. She has held positions as church organist and given organ and piano concerts in Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Missouri. She studied organ with Robert Cavarra and James Higdon and piano with Wendell Diebel and James Winerock, and has played in masterclasses for many notable artists. Carol is also an adjunct piano instructor at Colorado College, accompanies in the community, and is an active performer on organ, piano and harpsichord.

Nate leads a very talented and committed group of young adults who serve as mentors and sponsors for our very active youth group -- which during the school year meets on Sunday evenings for a meal and study and fellowship, and on Tuesday evenings for informal get-togethers.
