Chancel Choir   For ALL who desire to sing! There is no audition requfake picirement. We practice on Thursdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Music Room (basement near the church offices) and sometimes the Sanctuary. This ensemble sings most Sundays at either or both worship services.

The repertoire is varied and includes works by the usual masters of musical form. We also sing Spirituals, Psalm settings, music from the Taizé community, and often use descants to accompany our congregation's praises. The Chancel Choir usually gives two concerts per year, often accompanied by orchestra and benefitting a local charity.

Handbell Choir   For music readers or those desiring to read music.  First Christian Church owns a 6-octave set of Schulmerich handbells, and well as 4 octaves of Schulmerich handchimes. We practice onpic of hand bell logo Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Music Room (basement near the church offices) as well as in the Sanctuary.

While hand bell ringing may have started as a secular activity, many churches use hand bells to enhance worship. This ensemble often plays during preludes, special music, and accompanies congregational singing.  A music cornerstone of festive holidays and other special occasions, our ringers are also dedicated to great music and fun fellowship.

Children’s Choir – meets in the Sanctuary at 9:30 on Sunday mornings and then children go to Sunday School. Part of the Children's Ministry, we learn songs, play hand chimes and percussion instruments, lead songs in worship, and have a great time! Music is a key component in cognitive development and spiritual growth.
