Children

    and

       Youth PROGRAMS

The purpose of both our Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry is to help our children and youth to come to know God as their loving Creator, to assist them in developing a personal faith, to better understand their Children in action Sept. 12 2010relationship with God, to provide them a Christian atmosphere which develops friendships, and to provide opportunities for Christian service, outreach and leadership through fun and engaging activities.  We believe that the most important thing for every Christian – children, youth, or adults! – is to know that God loves and cares for them unconditionally.  In a world that is often judgmental, harsh, and uncertain, our young people need that message more than ever!

Children- ages 4 years through 5th grade meet each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. "under the basketball goal" in our Fellowship Hall for an "assembly" time.  They then go to their classes; currently we have classes for Pre-School/Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, and Grades 4-5.

Our committed and talented teachers use the creative arts to emphasize spiritual lessons.  Age-appropriate curricula ensures that lessons are both easily taught by our volunteers, and happily understood by our children. Lessons are reinforced using music, painting, sculpting, as well as social-service and outreach projects. These activities help us to put God’s plan in Children's ministry picaction and allow us to participate in being good stewards of God’s Creation!

We have special Activity Days that bring together neighborhood and school friends. Being right downtown, we are within walking distance of parks, public art and more of God's people to serve.

Children's Church (which meets on the first Sunday of the month) is an opportunity to train children in the components of worship including praise, prayer, stewardship and gratitude...all wrapped up in the arts!

Sunday School is an opportunity to teach children about the elements of their faith including Bible Characters,The Child Jesus, God Loves Our World, and other topics. We use a curriculum that allows for participation on various levels. Our lessons are adapted for those who need that assistance.
